Visible Progress

We found a canvas in the depths of the Art room, a fun colourful composition based upon the Year 9 topic 'Africa'

We soon realised it was painted by one of the current Year 13 A2 Art students, so it was a hoot to compare it to her now vastly improved, and developed, painting skills

Alicia has applied to continue her education at University to study Interior Architecture.

Well done

Year 7 Stacks

The Year 7's have been exploring sculptures by the artist Barbara Hepworth following our trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The Year 7's have created paper collage 'stacks' that explore shape, structure, form and balance which will now be used to inspire 3D clay outcomes!

Mini Show

On January 30th we held a 'Mini Show' to exhibit the final outcomes of coursework projects by; GCSE Art, A Level Art, A Level Photography and A Level Textiles students. It was really great to see such a diverse range of outcomes presented in an exhibition format. Plus, it was a fantastic way to celebrate the students hard work! Thank you to everybody that came along to see exactly what it is we get up to down in the Art department! We look forward to our bigger exhibition in the Summer following the completion of the exam projects (details to follow!).

Here is a small selection of photos from the evening...
